No one mentions Gustavain by name, likely because no one knows it, but the elite are abuzz with news that House Fortemps has taken in a ward, something they haven't done in some time. Ishgard cares little for the rest of Eorzea's politics except as gossip, but Phillip certainly hears that this is supposedly the man who slew Iceheart, the Warrior of Light, defeater of the Garlean Empire, who is also now accused of regicide. While everyone sounds impressed, everyone also makes him sound like some kind of savage wild animal, dangerous, and as though perhaps Count Edmont has finally lost his mind in letting him in the gates.
So it's probably a bit strange to see Gustavain come in as though he's not a care in the world, speak jovially enough to a small Lalafel woman for a moment, then wave when he sees Phillip, coming up the stairs nearly two at a time to greet his friend.
"Is it really you?" spills out of his mouth and, if there's any positive reply at all, Phillip's getting swept up in a hug the moment he allows for it.
