The victory has been so absolute that Gustavain doesn't move, doesn't push him away, even when the immediate pleasure stops, has to take a moment to blink, slow and stupid, to try to get his thoughts to pull away from the physical and concentrate on his words. It only takes a moment before he does, of course, an observer would probably only count out a second or two, but it's long enough for Phillip to speak before Gustavain can rally, and then his expression shifts to a delighted sort of surprise. He still doesn't really have time to speak before the kiss is rejoined, though, just sort of stares in a different kind of bafflement before their lips meet again.

It's always hot, whenever Phillip can catch Gustavain in a place where he can't really think, can only react, and his reaction is still just to moan and unravel for him. But it can't be denied that Gustavain is good at being a lover, passionate and fearless, and having his attention is blinding no matter how that attention is given. The moan into this kiss is more focused, pleased rather than overwhelmed, and his hands slide down to grip Phillip's hips, pulling him in closer as he actually returns this kiss, earlier arousal given an edge of desperation to it, as though they had been apart far longer than a sea voyage.
