"I hope it's the storm," it wasn't supposed to be a bad blizzard by Garlean standards, or a long one, but it's definitely picking up the wind and the snow outside enough that it's a bad idea to be out in it. "If that's true, we should be able to contact someone within a couple hours. If it's the tower..." he sighs, "I guess we pack up what provisions we can and follow the river after we get warm," his tone makes it clear he's not looking forward to it.
"They're going to scout, of course, but I'd rather haul the ceruleum with us and see if we can make it to another place to use it rather than sit here until it runs out, hoping they find us." He's not quite as much a person of action as she is, but he definitely will get antsy if they stay here longer than needed to rest up and get fully warmed and dry.
